WRFI News Recruitment Night

Primary tabs

Event Description

Are you worried about the state of independent, nonprofit news? Do you want to tell stories that matter, learn how to make radio, and do something meaningful over the summer?
Thankfully, WRFI Community Radio News is for everybody, including YOU. And we’re looking for volunteer news team members for this summer.
WRFI Community Radio is holding a news team recruitment night at the Tompkins County Public Library! From 7-8 p.m. on Thurs., Apr. 25, meet the folks who make the news happen at WRFI and learn how you can get involved.
As a volunteer radio journalist, you can be part of a team and:
- Research and write
- Interview and host on-air
- Produce original features (podcast nerds, this is your moment)
- Operate the board (It's like DJing, but for news junkies)
No experience necessary (we love to teach and learn here) and all backgrounds, identities, ages, and interests are welcome!
Looking forward to seeing you there! Until then, catch us on 88.1 in Ithaca, 91.9 Watkins Glen, or streaming online at wrfi.org every weekday at 6pm.
Can't make it but want to learn more about being a radio volunteer for the news team? Contact our news team director, Laura Rosbrow-Telem, at newsdirector@ithacaradio.org.
