Event Description
Struggling while mothering? You are so not alone. Join us for a lunchtime support meeting, where we get to talk about the hard parts of motherhood, in real life, not just online. These meetings are for moms of kids of any age, for in-person support about any challenges that could use love, listening, and hugs.
If you feel overwhelmed by motherhood, or get that "I'm a bad mom" feeling, please help yourself to this safe space for sharing, sisterhood, and learning new coping skills for handling guilt, worry, anxiety, sleep deprivation, postpartum blues, or postpartum depression. This group is for any mother who needs comfort and support, no official diagnosis necessary.
Shy but could use the sisterhood and comfort? Please feel free to just listen, it is totally okay not to share anything out loud.
You are welcome to bring babies and toddlers if you wish. Children that can understand the conversation should not be in the room with us. We are considering offering some artistic activities for kids aged 3-12 in the room next door if we have actual demand for it, so please let us know if you'd like us to make this happen.
RSVP is helpful, but not required.
Please share this event with anybody who could benefit from it.
Mama’s Comfort Camp is a free support community online and in real life. We are mothers from all around the world (but most of us, over 2600, are from the Ithaca area) connecting via this private facebook group to offer loving peer support online and mutual assistance locally. Together we normalize the challenges and celebrate the joys of this roller-coaster ride called motherhood, all in a safe space free from judgment, protected from unsolicited advice, and steeped with respect and kindness. In Ithaca we enjoy a vibrant and responsive network of local moms helping each other out. We hold free monthly support meetings, fun gatherings, and classes.
Free and open to moms of kids of ANY age: from moms of newborns to grandmothers and every stage in between.
