Tompkins Area VITA - Free Tax Preparation Service

This year the Tompkins County Public Library's Digital Lab will host the Tompkins Area VITA - Free Tax Preparation Service.  This service is available to low-income residents of Tompkins and Cortland Counties, and is completely free as long as your income is $65,000 or less. Volunteer tax preparers will prepare your tax return in-person for you!

These sessions are by appointment only, and appointments can be made starting Jan 29, 2024. If you live in Tompkins or Cortland Counties, call 2-1-1 on Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. If you live outside those counties, call toll free at (877) 211-8667.  2-1-1 workers will walk you through the requirements and what documents you need.
