Baby Storytime
I'm so impressed at all the families who come out on these cold mornings! We had such fun!
First we read...
Just Like Me! by Joshua Seigal
....and shared these rhymes and songs:
I Can from King County Library System
Tune: Wheels on the Bus
I can make my hands
Go clap, clap, clap,
Clap, clap, clap,
Clap, clap, clap.
I can make my hands
Go clap, clap, clap.
They’re a part of me.
Repeat with:
I can make my head go nod, nod, nod....
I can make my eyes go blink, blink, blink…
Monkey See, Monkey Do from Storytime Katie
Monkey see, monkey do
Little monkey at the zoo
Monkey, monkey in the tree
Can you ________ like me?
(Repeat with: swing your arms, scratch an itch, eat a banana, screech out loud)
Then we learned the baby sign for play and sang this fun little bouncing song:
Shortnin’ Bread from Jbrary
Tiny little baby loves bouncing, bouncing
Tiny little baby loves bouncing so
Tiny little baby loves bouncing, bouncing
Tiny little baby loves bouncing so
Bounce to the left
Bounce to the right
Now hug that baby
Nice and tight!
Next we read....
Ship by Chris Demarest
....and shared this fun little boat song and counting rhyme:
Splashin’ Up and Down from the Verona Storytime site
Tune: Bouncing Up and Down in My Little Red Wagon
Splashin’ up and down in my little red rowboat,
Splashin’ up and down in my little red rowboat,
Splashin’ up and down in my little red rowboat,
Won’t you be my darling?
Repeat with:
Looking out to sea in my little red rowboat…
Waving to a whale in my little red rowboat…
Don’t stand up or you might tip over!...
5 Little Boats from Sunflower Storytime
The first little boat went chug, chug, chug.
The second little boat went tug, tug, tug.
The third little boat went row, row, row.
The fourth little boat went oh sooo slooooow.
Here comes the sailboat, watch it go!
We finished up with scarves and said our goodbyes. Next week is our last Baby Storytime for this session! Hope to see you there. We'll return again on Friday, January 12th.
