TCPL Board of Trustees Announces Leadership Change
The Board of Trustees of the Tompkins County Public Library has accepted the resignation of Leslie Tabor as Library Director, effective March 17, 2025.
The Board appreciates the work she has done since joining the library in November of 2022. During Ms. Tabor’s time, she oversaw the Library’s expanded access to physical and digital collections, implementation of a new modern RFID system, improved efficiency of library operations, and expanded access to free NARCAN by community members, which has contributed to saving lives. Ms. Tabor has also been a strong advocate for the core values of public libraries, championing access, equity, and intellectual freedom.
The Board appreciates Ms. Tabor’s dedication to the Library and wishes her well in her next endeavor.
Day-to-day operations of TCPL will continue with the Library’s dedicated staff focused on ensuring that all community members feel welcome to a place of learning, discovery, and opportunity.
A timeline for naming an interim director and the search for a permanent director will be announced in the coming weeks.
