Program Description

About this event:

Join us for a brand-new book club dedicated to true crime, led by TCPL staff Asia and Woody!

Why are we obsessed with true crime? What does consuming tales of murder and mayhem say about our deepest fears about ourselves and the world around us? We'll explore these questions and more with our twice-yearly book club, and will have more opportunities to connect on social media.

In January, we'll read and discuss a classic example of true crime--In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Focused on the horrific Clutter family murders in Holcomb, Kansas in 1959, Capote's nonfiction work is a masterpiece of investigatory journalism combined with evocative narrative.

There is a limited number of copies of In Cold Blood available for registered participants.

January's book club meeting will be held via Zoom. To receive updates and the Zoom link for participation, register below.
