About this event:
Please join the Tompkins County Public Library and Cornell University Library for the 2023Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon! We’ll be meeting up in person over three days, so you’ll have several opportunities to join us: 1-5 pm on Friday, April 14 and Saturday April 15 in Olin Library room 107, and on Sunday, April 16, at the Tompkins County Public Library (Makerspace/Digital Lab). This year, we’ll help uplift community voices by improving coverage of communities of women in the arts, with a focus on local Ithaca artists! For just half an hour or for the whole day, you can pitch in by writing an entry, adding a footnote, translating text, uploading images, or by looking up information for others. Everyone is welcome—no matter your gender, and regardless of experience with editing. Unfamiliar with Wikipedia? We’ll walk you through the process. If you already have collectives, groups, artists, writers, or performers in mind (whether cis, transgender, or non-binary), great! If you don’t, just pick from our list.
