About this event:

In celebration of AAPI month, TCPL is offering a free Jianzi(毽子) craft and play event for teens ages 12 - 18. 

What is Jianzi? It is one of the earliest forms of soccer/football. Jianzi was created in China during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220AD) and has inspired many of the skills found in the modern sports of Jokgu, Freestyle Football, and Hacky Sack/ Footbag. At this event, participants will have the opportunity to make a custom Jianzi, learn basic footwork, and play several games. No soccer/football skills required.  For Participants with advanced football/soccer skills several tutorials on how to perform the Toe Stall, Around the World, and Up and Under will be provided.

Registration is required to participate.

This event will incorporate lots of physical activity. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water and wear comfortable athletic shoes. 

A vegan Jianzi option will also be provided.
