TCPL Craft and Play: Traditional Spinning Tops

About this event:

In celebration of AAPI month, TCPL is offering a free craft and play spinning top event. At this event youth ages 8 - 15 will have the opportunity to learn how to launch three different kinds spinning tops from China and Japan. Participants will also be able to craft and customize their own battling top.

The tops include: 

Beigoma(ベーゴマ) a string launched battling top.

Koma(こま )  a string launched top that performs tricks like a yoyo.

Tuoluo (陀螺) a top kept spinning through striking it with a whip.

Registration is required to participate. 

This event will incorporate lots of physical activity. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water and wear comfortable athletic shoes.
