About this event:
Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare presents an evening with Jaimie Monahan, a world record holding ultramarathon and ice swimmer and Cornell alum. Jaimie will tell the story of how she became interested in ice swimming and share stories and pictures from her open water swims on all seven continents. Jaimie will also provide tips on open water swimming for new and experienced swimmers alike.

Jaimie Monahan is an ice, winter, and ultramarathon swimmer from New York City who has enjoyed open water swimming on all seven continents. She has successfully completed non-stop, solo, ultramarathon endurance swims up to 114 miles (183 km) in distance and more than 45 hours in duration. Jaimie is an inductee of both the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame and the Ice Swimming Hall of Fame.
Women Swimmin' for Hospicare is a community swim (not a race!) for women (and those that identify as women) ages 18 and over. Women Swimmin' for Hospicare raises funds to directly support patients and their families in Cortland and Tompkins counties. Hospicare & Palliative Care Services brings care to patients and their loved ones at any stage of a life-limiting illness and/or following a death.
