About this event:
Artist Laura Rowley returns for another monthly series of drop-in art making experiences in the Makerspace! These events do not require registration, and are first-come first-served. Ages 12-15 are welcome with an adult, ages 16+ are welcome solo.
Jan 22nd: Silkscreen posters based around the theme of Martin Luther King day. Learn about what a silkscreen is, and try printing one of the designs Laura prepares for this event.
February 12th: Wood block printed valentines. Use our vintage book press to print hand-inked wood blocks. We will have a selection of wood blocks prepared on the laser ready to print!
March 19th: Artist book or zine making. Learn a simple book binding method and enjoy creating an artist book using collage, drawing, and other mediums.
April 23rd: Paper-making for Earth Day. Using prepared cotton paper pulp, enjoy mixing in colors, seeds, and perhaps more to make one-of-a-kind recycled paper! Include seeds for a plantable wildflower paper.
