Program Description
About this event:
The skilled and artful puppeteers from the Ithaca Waldorf School will be presenting the story "The Apple Cake," based on the book by Neinke van Hichtum at 1:30 and 2:30 pm.
Beautifully crafted scenery and props add magic and whimsy to this charming story of an old woman who wants to bake an apple cake. She has everything she needs, except apples. So she sets off to market, taking a basket of plums to trade along the way, just in case.
This is a classic story of sharing, trading and caring. Children will love guessing what the woman will acquire next, and how, and seeing how her journey brings her full circle as her kindness is repaid. Sue Terwilliger and IWS student Tao Teramura will provide live music, and Early Childhood teachers Larisa Kuznetsova, Kristina Winkelmann, Kaori Teramura, Andi Pisacano, and Carol St. John will present this engaging story for ages 3 and up.
