About this event:
Join us at this community meeting to build local capacity to provide a restorative justice process similar to the one used in Buffalo with the local mediation center, Center for Resolution and Justice (CRJ) and a community RJ coalition. We will cover the work in Buffalo using Restorative Justice and a role play experience.
This event is for community members interested in planning future workshops, trainings, and practice groups to build capacity and help people practice facilitating conferences.
There will also be a separate in-person version of this event from 4:30-6:30pm, at No Mas Lagrimas (a weekly food rescue and distribution and free store), 706 West Buffalo Street, behind "Classrooms at Greenstar." Anyone who prefers to meet in person or who wants to continue this conversation offline is welcome to attend.
Andrew Prinzing is Principal at Randolph Academy in Hamburg, NY and a trainer with Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition in Buffalo, NY. Since 2011, he has used Restorative Practices in schools, courts, and communities to build relationships, repair harm, and to prevent youth from penetrating the criminal justice system.
Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition trains people to use Restorative Practices in schools, organizations, neighborhoods, and courts.
This event will be offered via Zoom. Participants registered here will receive an email with details on how to access the meeting the day before the event. If you have any questions, please contact Sophia McKissick at smckissick@tcpl.org.
