About this event:
Ellis's talk will be a discussion of the psychological and historical themes in "We Have Always Lived in the Castle," a novel by Shirley Jackson, in particular agoraphobia, xenophobia, and the Cold War. We'll also talk about Jackson's life and why her work might be experiencing such renewed public interest and admiration.
Rhian Ellis teaches writing at SUNY Cortland and is the author of the novel After Life. She lives in Ithaca.
