About this event:
Have you seen the fantastic pieces hanging from the rafters in the Avenue of the Friends at the Tompkins County Public Library? Have you wondered how they were created?
Join Artist Gerry Monaghan for four weeks of hands-on activities in the Makerspace! Learn to build 3D sculptures using common materials, like toothpicks, skewers, chair cain, hot glue, hoops, frames, and more. Join in once, or stop by weekly to build on your skills and learn to turn your sculptures into larger mobiles and hanging works of art.
Gerry will demonstrate how he creates his sculptural art, and will be present to chat about developing and maintaining an artistic practice!
These drop-in programs can accommodate 8 makers at a time. Ages 16 and up welcome.
