Take and Make STEAM Kits: Chromatography Butterflies!
Thank you for crafting with us! All of the current Take and Make kits at TCPL and the Sciencenter have been claimed and are unavailable at this time. We're putting together a new Take and Make kit that will be available sometime in July. Any questions or comments, please contact Joah Tang, Library Assistant, by email at jtang@tcpl.org.
What colors are hiding inside a marker???
In partnership with Cornell Center for Materials Research, the Sciencenter, and the National Science Foundation, we're pleased to offer a new Take and Make STEAM Kit: Chromatography Butterflies!
The free Take and Make kits contain a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math)-based craft that families can work on together. With the Chromatography Butterflies kit, families can discover all the colors used inside a washable marker.
While supplies last, families can pick up a kit at one of two locations. Beginning Monday, May 24, kits will be available at TCPL during open hours on both curbside and express browsing days. When using curbside pickup, please indicate your interest in a kit when you call to notify us of your arrival. On browsing days, simply pick one up in the lobby area. Please contact Library Assistant Joah Tang with any questions at jtang@tcpl.org.
Starting Wednesday, May 26, kits can be picked up at the Sciencenter front desk, at 601 First Street in Ithaca, Wednesday-Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. The Sciencenter is also offering several of the previous Take and Make kits. Contact Annie Gordon with any questions at agordon@sciencenter.org.

Thanks to the Cornell Center for Materials Research Families Learning Science Together program, the Sciencenter, and the National Science Foundation for making this program and kit possible.
