Director Search: Community Invitation to Public Presentation

The Tompkins County Public Library Board of Trustees invites the community to its next finalist candidate presentation for the position of library director on Tuesday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m. Organized by the Library Director Search Committee, the presentation is an opportunity for the public to hear directly from candidate Sandy Irwin of Durango, Colorado.
“We have deeply appreciated the public’s engagement in our search for our next library director, and hope the community will join us for Ms. Irwin’s presentation,” says Search Committee Chair Blixy Taetzsch, who also serves as secretary of the library’s Board of Trustees. “This position is of great importance in our community, and we encourage the public to join us and to ask questions.”

Irwin is the director of the Durango Public Library in Durango, Colorado. Prior to her tenure in Durango, Irwin worked at the Deschutes Public Library in Bend, Oregon, where she served first as a branch manager and children’s librarian and later as library manager and assistant director. Irwin received her Master of Library Science from Kent State University and is also a Certified Public Manager.

Irwin’s presentation will be available as a live Zoom webinar. Her presentation will be 20 - 25 minutes, followed by moderated audience Q&A. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit feedback after the presentation.
