The Art Behind the Scientist
(or The Secret Life of Scientists)
A new series of exhibits featuring the work of artists more normally known for their scientific work.
by Nancy Ridenour
The first exhibit during 2011 in the series Art Behind the Scientist features Photo Montages by Nancy Ridenour and will be on display March - April 7.
Nancy Ridenour will talk about her work and her background as a scientist at a presentation in the BorgWarner Community Room at 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 31.
These photo montages combine Ridenour’s love of gardening with her evolving expertise in digital photography. For 32 years, Ridenour taught biology at Ithaca High School and nurtured excellence among her students. Since her retirement in 2005, she has utilized scientific principles to develop unique techniques that extract portions of digital images that result in the production of photo montages.
